A rainbow has tripped
on a second and is spilling
its blood all over my eyes
and the half horizon I'm hung from.A bird persists from left to right
like a child untiringly crayoning,
hungrily proud at forming
something bordering human.The evening and I are missing the lesson.
It is pressing around again
with the bird and I am determined
to resemble children's sketches.A plane in the background imitates
elegance like planting trees
at equal distance in city gardens,
attempting to surface like clouds.Even satellites insist significance
and gape on the starry night
like dripping Parisian patrons
rating, swelling, bidding into thin air.And the bird rises into mid air,
past plane windows,
package impressions,
weeping its indifference.
